We are pleased and proud to present our first record. This is a subtle release but we’re just too excited about it to wait for the formal release. The Pinups spent time rehearsing in January of this year, tracking at the Bunker Studio in Brooklyn in February, mixing in March, mastering in April, ruminating in May. You can view photos of the process (and how awesome Joey looks in photos) on our flickr. We think a lot of magic moments have been captured on the record and that it reflects the unforgettably good time we had making it. We encourage you all to harass your friends about it and spread the word.

You can preview the entire record and purchase at our second home on secondhandpinups.bandcamp.com. Or you can click our record cover above –OR– you can click the link to the left. So many options!

A great many thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night. We had an incredible time and really enjoyed the other sets. As we said, these next two months will be spent planning for our time in the studio at the beginning of February. I might post a snippet or two of some thoughts we have floating around. In the meantime I’ll be learning the banjo ( ! ) and having fun with sounds and arrangements.

Yes, yes it’s been a while, but we’re welcoming ourselves back with a show at Pete’s.  We’ll be playing a quiet show with some new songs we’ve been working on.  Should be a good time…hope to see you there!

I’ve finally conquered the wordpress beast.  I don’t ordinarily stray from flash but I think this has worked out nicely.  I hope this will make keeping tabs on our gigs and happenings easier than combing through myspace.  I’ll be adding an audio player shortly.

I realize it’s been a while since we’ve had any news, but we lost some players over the summer to the land down under and have had to regroup.  While we will miss Joe Salvati’s playing and equally entertaining facial expressions, we are very fortunate and thrilled to be playing with Spencer Cohen again.  As Travis DiRuzza makes his way around Southeast Asia and eventually to Australia/New Zealand, Chris Bonner will be sharing his talents with us.  I’ll be posting upcoming gigs shortly.  Cheers!
